Color Types
Vibrant colors feature high saturation and medium lightness. Pastel colors are soft and light with gentle saturation. Deep colors are rich and dark. Warm colors range through reds, oranges, and yellows. Cool colors span blues and teals. Neon colors are ultra-bright with maximum saturation. Earth tones are natural browns and muted greens. Muted colors feature low saturation. Soft colors are gentle and approachable. Jewel tones are rich like gemstones.
Color Formats
HEX codes are six-digit hexadecimal numbers used in web design. RGB (Red, Green, Blue) defines colors by mixing three primary light colors. HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) is an intuitive way to describe colors. CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key/Black) is used in print design.
